Making a mental note to prepare myself for Whidbey Bagel Factory, which I was planning on visiting soon. I must also share my disappointment with the newly opened Toasted. I was really rooting for them but I have no good news to bring back to the group… But despite it all, I am truly excited about the bagel scene in Seattle and remain full of hope for next year!
My wife must be an even bigger curmudgeon than you, though, to be fair, scoffing is her default position on many things. But for this thing in particular her biggest gripe is that the only place in this town you can get an egg bagel is... Blazing Bagels? Seriously? WTF is up with that?
For me it's the dearth of pumpernickel, which I can kinda understand, but luckily Bagel Oasis has my back on that, even if all the other places closer to me that you say are great don't.
Oh sure, just when I'm getting ready to leave Seattle, bialys take off. I was stunned, while reading your roundup, at how the nearly non-existent Seattle bagel scene has boomed in recent years. That's a good thing. Thanks for all your research!
