Welcome to It’s A Shanda, one Northeastern Jew’s quest to find a decent bagel in Seattle (and beyond). Along with free bagel reviews every Sunday, we also offer bonus posts (like this one) each week. If you’re already subscribed, I hope you’ll consider upgrading to a paid subscription! Thank you for reading.
A quick note: Everyone who requested stickers should have them by now. If you haven’t received your It’s a Shanda stickers, let me know.
And if you didn’t get a chance to order last time and still want some, the form is still open!
The weather is turning colder, the chilly rain has kicked in, and every Seattlite is required to carry a hot beverage at all times. It’s a time for getting cozy, grabbing some nosh, and kibbitzing a bit.
In other words, I thought it might finally be time for an It’s a Shanda bagel meet-up.
It’s been a pleasure getting to know everyone through the comments, emails, and reactions. It’d be cool to put faces to screen names and get to know all the other people in town who are way too into bagels. It’s a chance to compare notes, share rankings, and tell me why I’m wrong about [INSERT BAGEL HERE].
I’ve created a Google form to fill out. It’ll ask you a couple of questions. First, what days of the week might work for you? Second, what’s a good bagel shop for the meet-up? I’ve selected local bagel shops with ample seating to accommodate a group, which is why you won’t see some of the smaller spots included. Try to limit your location picks to three.
Once I get a good sense of when people are available and which bagel shops they’d prefer, I’ll figure out arrangements and we’ll make it happen, presumably for November or December. Paid subscribers’ picks will be given extra weight but everyone gets a say.
Make sure you enter your votes here and I’ll announce the date and bagel shop soon!
Thanks for actually reading this far. If you enjoyed my bagel review and want to read more of them, make sure you’re subscribed to It’s A Shanda. Know someone in the Greater Seattle Area (or beyond) who would appreciate way-too-detailed reviews of local bagels? Please forward the link their way.
